Manage. Monitor. Grow. What is a farm really worth?
Farm value is not one number. It is land, the crop you choose, the yield you actually achieve and the price you get at the farm gate. Move the sliders below to see how those four things work together on a real Zimbabwe farm budget.
Land valued at $2,500 per hectare (arable, with water access).
Nov – Apr (summer rains) · 5 month cycle · 2 cycles per year
$12,500
5 ha × $2,500
$10,050
30 tonnes
$4,300
43% margin after inputs
$21,100
Land plus $8,600 annual profit
Staple demand all year. Yield swings most with rainfall and top dressing timing.
Land. Hectares × value per hectare. Water rights, soil type and road access move this number more than size alone.
Yield. Tonnes per hectare you actually harvest — not the best case on the seed packet. Records are how you prove yours.
Price. Farm-gate price per tonne. Plant into the glut and this collapses; stagger planting and it holds.
Cost. Seed, fertiliser, chemicals, labour, fuel. Revenue minus cost is the only number a lender or investor reads.
Turn the estimate into records
Track your real yields, costs and prices — then your farm value is evidence, not a guess.
Figures are indicative planning estimates for Zimbabwe and neighbouring markets and are not a forecast or an offer. Your own results depend on rainfall, inputs, management and the market at the time of sale.
