How to use the FarmInvest app: your first week, step by step
20 August 2026 7 min read

You do not need to capture a whole season on day one. Set up the basics, then record as you work. By the end of the first week you will already have numbers worth reading.
Day 1 — create your account and your farm
Sign up as a farmer, add your farm name and location. The location is what the weather panel uses, so put in the area you actually farm.
Day 2 — add your land and your crops
Add each field with its size, then add the crop planted on it. Livestock works the same way: create the animal group first, then record activities against it.
Day 3 to 5 — record as you spend
Capture things on the day they happen; it takes seconds and it is the part that pays back.
- Inputs: seed, fertiliser, chemicals — quantity and cost
- Labour: who worked, how long, what they were paid
- Equipment and fuel used on the field
- Sales: buyer, quantity, price and currency
Day 6 — add helpers
A farm owner can add up to three helpers so a manager or family member can capture records too. Everyone writes into the same farm.
Day 7 — read your reports
Open Reports and look at cost per field and margin per crop. Even one week of honest data shows where money is leaking, and it becomes the record an investor or lender will ask for later.
Ready for the next step?
Farming and investing both go better with clear numbers. Start where it suits you.
